At the end of four weeks of staying at home and working at home, we’re into a pretty steady routine. Dave’s workload has been overflowing into the weekend, but today was different. It felt almost like a normal Saturday. Almost. We still talked about the coronavirus. But we also had some fun. I’ll show you.
This morning, Dave and I made one of our Paper Bag Apple Pies to go with the Vanilla Ice Cream I made yesterday. This afternoon, we took a slice to a neighbor’s porch.
In the place where our 7 foot pre-lit Cashmere Pencil Tree (aka Christmas/Valentine’s tree) has stood, a table and lamp were set up for a 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzle depicting CEREAL BOXES.
The spot at the dining room table that is Dave’s office during the week became Kyle’s photo studio after dinner. He took pictures of the Dr. Mario and Viruses models he just completed. You can see his many character models here.
My seed trays are in the background and many of the seeds have sprouted! More on that later.
This afternoon, Dave took me to the Bike Path for a walk. I took advantage of that by trekking all the way to The Rock, completing a 1-mile round trip. Instead of driving right back up the hill to our house, we spent a little time going through town and around the mall area. No stops, just seeing what is and is not going on outside of our neighborhood. When we returned, Kyle was mowing the lawn.
There were less glamorous moments, too, moments that might not have been fun exactly, but that meant a whole lot to me. I’m so appreciative of the cleaning Dave did today, and it has been good to see my hard-working husband rest on this Saturday.
May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands. Psalm 90:17
