Dear Reader, if you are rejoicing, I rejoice with you! If you are grieving, my heart is saddened. If you are struggling with a health problem, I understand and pray for your healing.
Since my spine surgery on January 28, I have been touched over and over again by the receipt of get well cards in the mail. The envelopes arrived in my hospital room and in our home mailbox, containing cards with beautiful illustrations and words, rhyming words, uplifting words, words printed in thoughtfully chosen greeting cards, words handwritten by friends who took the time to express their concern for me during my challenging recovery, and words from God’s Word.
I have kept each one, treasuring the gift, giving thanks for the prayers and well wishes, wanting every person who is in such a difficulty to feel the same love that I have received. You have likely heard of “paying it forward,” an act of passing a kindness on to someone else. That is my desire today. So, I typed each of the Bible verses found inside the cards I’ve received, marveling at the 40 different passages from various versions and translations of the Bible, finding words from 22 of the 66 books contained in the Bible, words written throughout many centuries, repeated words that show me who God really is and what He has promised. May His Words be a healing balm to your spirit as well. And please accept the photos of a couple of my cards as words from my heart to yours.
