Would anyone else like to go back to January and have a do-over of 2020, only without coronavirus? What words are you using to describe these days, weeks, months? Crazy? Weird? Strange? I had not settled on a topic to write about today and just started poking around on Thoughts Collected by Lisa for an idea.
This is my 192nd post, with over 40 of them during March and April 2020. My statistics page revealed that during these daily writings related to the pandemic, a number of folks in Ireland have been visiting my blog. I don’t know who they are or why they’re finding my posts; it’s a little strange.
Thoughts Collected by Lisa has been around since August of 2016. I wondered what post from the past got the most attention and found that on December 17, 2018, I published Strange Days Indeed, in which I described a week that held bomb scares, a bank robbery, the first time I visited Cleveland Clinic as the patient instead of as the supportive spouse, and attending a Christmas party through Facetime.
It was interesting to read about those strange days, think about all that has happened since then, realize that these crazy strange days were no where on the horizon. Perhaps you would like to visit or revisit that writing from a year and a half ago. Strange Days Indeed began,
It’s the first day of a new week, the week of the year that holds for us in Ohio the day with the least daylight, the winter solstice. In our little town, we are into the third day of clouds so dense that even the daylight hours are dark. It’s a wonderful time for bright Christmas lights.
I’m thinking about some of these recent days, days that have held unexpected events, happenings that felt a bit dark, strange in the context of the Christmas season, inconsistent with the holly jolly holiday. It’s a good time for facing reality. (click here to continue)
Update on the bank robbery: The thief, who had robbed other banks, was finally apprehended by U.S. Marshals in California and returned to Belmont County where he was was sentenced to 16 years in prison.
Well, this was a strange post indeed.
