In these strange days, anxiety, loneliness, and helplessness can threaten to consume our minds. One year ago, I shared all of the scripture from the encouraging greeting cards received after my surgery. Here are some of those Bible passages and promises to remind us again who God is and how much he loves us. Some are instructive – fix your thoughts, praise, cast your care, pray, trust, seek, wait. This is a perfect opportunity, dear reader, to draw near to God. He is the source of peace.
Philippians 4:8 Fix your thoughts on what is true and good and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely, and dwell on the fine, good things in others. Think about all you can praise God for and be glad about.
Colossians 1:11 We also pray that you will be strengthened with his glorious power so that you will have all the patience and endurance you need
1Timothy 1:2 Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord
James 1:3-4 the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
James 5:16 Pray for one another that ye may be healed.
