Pray 2

It’s Sunday again, March 29, 2020. We are experiencing a very sunny, VERY windy day. During the worst of the gusts this afternoon, our electricity went off, even after we prayed that it wouldn’t. Lord, have mercy on all of us who have the food you have graciously provided stored in refrigerators and freezers! Blindly following my weekend meal plan, I filled my crock pot with meat and vegetables this morning, even under a high wind warning. The outage stalled that cooking and lasted for over two hours, so we moved the meal into a cooler with ice. The ice cream had to be removed to get to the ice, and it seemed prudent to finish that off.

I wrote about my Homemade Ice Cream HERE.

Thankfully, our hardworking utility workers got things working again and dinner is in the oven.

Here is a prayer for this, the Lord’s day:

I worship You O Prince of Peace that is what I want to do
I give you praise for You are my righteousness
I worship You Almighty God there is none like You
We are so thankful, Lord, for who you are! We know that you are strong and you are loving. When we consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? We are blessed beyond measure to be able to call on you, to cast our cares on you, to be in fellowship with you. All this, because you loved the world so much that you gave your one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
We thank you, Lord, for your promise that nothing can separate us from your love! We confess that at times we do not rest in that truth, but, instead, become anxious, fearful, doubtful. Please forgive us for thinking at times that we know better than you, for leaning on our own understanding, rather than trusting you with all our hearts. Thank you for your forgiveness and faithfulness.
We thank you, Lord, for shepherding us through this crisis day by day. Some of us have postponed actions we were considering prior to this emergency. Perhaps you are leading us in a better direction. Some of us had serious health concerns when this hit. Some have been hit with medical issues even while the coronavirus is a threat. We all pray for our neighbors and friends who need healing, help, and hope.
We bring to you the needs of so many who are without employment now. Show us how to encourage them. We thank you and pray for the men and women who continue to do jobs that are essential to all of us. Please protect them from illness and provide for all their needs.
Lord, we ask you to quiet anxious minds, look after the vulnerable, and bring an end to the illness that is sweeping over the world. Protect and guide our public leaders and use each of us in your service.
In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, Prince of Peace, we pray.
AMEN
